S.A. Swann gives us an exciting story that is full of action, romance, mystery and the paranormal all rolled into one. The characters are vivid and full of life pulling you into the pages with them, giving you a great adventure in the reading.

Uldolf finds an injured girl in the forest near his home. Little does he know that she is going to change his life forever, or that she is also a girl from his past. Lilly has no knowledge of how she got to where she is but remembers slowly. Once Uldolf gets her back to his home she has a hard time speaking, so it makes it hard for her to convey what she wants to say and that frustrates her. His sister Hilde hears her singing in the middle of the night and talking in her sleep. During this time she talks to her and this is how she finds out her name is Lilly.

People are looking for Lilly, people that know what she truly is and how dangerous she can be. They are the ones that injured her, but Uldolf and his family hide her and keep her safe. Lilly becomes protective of Uldolf. She doesn’t want him to get hurt because she is remembering that she is the one that hurt him when he was a child. She is the one who made him loose one of his arms. She never wants to hurt him or for him to hurt again. And that includes his family.

The Bishop’s men find clues that she has to be somewhere nearby. Uldolf and his family have already gone to the city and have left Lilly behind. But Lilly ran silently to follow them and then into the gates to find Uldolf. The Bishop is determined to find Lilly and destroy her despite of what she had been used for before.

What will become of Lilly and Uldolf’s family? Will Uldolf realize that Lilly is the monster from his dreams?

Swann is a bright and talented author that I would be honored to read again. I’ll look forward to any book by this author.

Book Blurb & Info for Wolfbreed

In this captivating reinvention of the werewolf novel, S. A. Swann propels readers into the darkest days of the Middle Ages, weaving a rare blend of soaring romance, historical intrigue, paranormal thrills, and spiritual questioning to tell a story that forever changes those who hear it.

When a monk inadvertently discovers a lair of werewolf young, he unleashes what will become the Church’s most powerful–and secret–weapon. Clandestinely raised by the Teutonic Order, these lupine creatures serve as instruments of God against pagan unbelievers. Trained to slip into villages cloaked in human form, they are all but unstoppable. Only one, called Lilly, has cunningly fled her brutal master.

Uldolf is too young to remember the massacre eight years earlier that claimed his village, his arm, and his kin. But he knows the pain of loneliness. When he sees what appears to be a beautiful young woman, injured and cowering in the woods, he races to her aid. Uldolf and his adoptive family will do anything to protect the terrified girl, but the danger is greater than they can possibly imagine. For death is the only life Lilly has ever known–and if their humanity can’t pierce the darkness Lilly harbors in her soul, they’ll soon come to know it, too.
