This book contains two hot stories with even hotter men. While the heroes have the same type of job, fire fighter, the stories are not connected and do not have to be read together.
The Fireman and the Ice Queen by Dee S. Knight starts this book off. Harmon, Harm, Reynolds has been asked to head the negotiations between the firefighter’s union and the city. He didn’t ask to do this but he was considered to be the best choice. He’s heard that the new assistant mayor who was tasked with this is a real ice queen and a ball buster. This doesn’t sound good as the fire department as some major issues with equipment and only a few days to work out a new contract. When the assistant mayor joins him to work on the contract, Harm didn’t expect to be immediately attracted to her. His wife had only been dead a little over a year and he’d never been attracted to another woman. Can he get through the negotiations without giving away his unprofessional feelings?
Beth Edwards has a job she loves, assistant mayor. In another year, she hopes to run for mayor. Her first priority is negotiating a contract with the city’s firefighters. Opening the door to the conference room, Beth sees a man that she has other than professional thoughts about. She’s never had any thoughts except on how to advance her career so these feelings she has towards Harm scares the heck out of her. Is she going to be able to keep her mind on the job when other parts of her body want something totally different?
Following this excellent story is Inferno by Colleen Love. Henrietta, Henri, James is a reporter with the assignment to interview local hero and firefighter, Cade Lane. Henri appreciates Cade’s fine body that has graced a calendar partially clothed and Cade’s vivid blue eyes. She can only hope that she can get a decent interview without her babbling. When she finally meets him in person, she finds that his pictures don’t do him justice and her mind keeps wondering well away from the interview she’s suppose to be conducting.
Cade Lane is a firefighter through and through. His father was a firefighter as was his grandfather. He lives for the job and all aspects of it have become second nature. When he learns Henri isn’t the short guy he thought but a beautiful woman, he not only shocked but thrilled as he desires to do a little research himself.
Things heat up as Henri and Cade learn more about each other not only in bed but out. When Cade is figured as a possible arson and secrets are uncovered, where will this relationship head?
Both of these stories were excellent. The heroes were everything you could want from a hero while the female leads were just as impressive. Romance is the name of the game in each with sexual scenes having emotion as well as enough detail to keep it interesting.
The characters are interesting. You get a feel for each and can visualize their lives. Though you don’t get a detailed view of their past, you do get enough to give them a somewhat multi dimensional feel. While you learn Cade’s father was a firefighter, you know nothing about his mother. Beth’s father was in military service but beyond that not much is known except one of her parents is from the town she’s currently assistant mayor. But the characters come across as personable
Both stories were fast paced and kept me interested. They were sexual and sensual keeping the romance alive. My only complaint was they ended too soon but you can’t have everything!

The Fireman and the Ice Queen - Dee S Knight
Harm Reynolds didn’t ask to be the liaison between the firefighters’ union and the city, but he’s been thrust into the role. Even worse, his opponent in the negotiations is the new assistant mayor, the reputed Ice Queen, a heartless ball buster who doesn’t care if his men charge into fiery buildings with equipment that won’t work. He’s determined to prove a fireman can handle the Ice Queen.
Beth Edwards knows she’s reputed to be a heartless bitch, and in truth, she’s even used it to her advantage at times. She isn’t without compassion; she just doesn’t handle emotion well. And since she only has time for career plans and none for love, well, what does a nasty nickname matter?
Both Beth and Harm should know playing with fire--whether it involved matches or love--is a dangerous thing to do.
Inferno - Colleen Love
Henrietta James is completely satisfied with her polished, metropolitan lifestyle until she accepts an assignment that brings one heroic Cade Lane into her world. Henrietta's research reveals that Mr. Lane is not only the firefighter that saves a child’s life, he's a man with a pin-up calendar worthy body, but more importantly a man that deserves appreciation.
For Cade Lane, being is firefighter is more than a job--it's who he is. He is also very surprised to find that Henri James is a woman! A very sexy woman who sets his blood burning. He quickly does anything he can to get closer to her and kindles the heat of instant attraction between them, stirring an inferno.
When trouble threatens, putting heart and body in harm's way, can the flames of love be kept burning bright despite the firestorm?
