The Chosen Sin is the start to a new fantastic futuristic vampire series by the phenomenal author Anya Bast. Bast is known for her spicy writing and paranormal wonders like the Elemental Witches series.
The Chosen Sin is set way in the future. Earthlings now travel through space and have other galaxies to live in. Earth still exists, but it’s not a place of beauty. It’s over crowded, polluted and bigotry abounds. New races of beings have shown themselves. Vampires are now known and have sought a new world. They were basically run off the earth. Like the early people who came to America they sought a new place to live that would accept them. They have found this place in a new galaxy. Some vampires are good, while others are bad. Some run blood slave operations and others work for special forces organizations and governments. Vamps are also known as the Chosen. Most vamps are created vamps because their biology shows that they can survive the change. In The Chosen Sin the human government has an organization called the ABI aka the Allied Bureau of Investigations and the chosen the GBC aka the Body of the Chosen. Daria of the ABI is paired with Alejandro of the GBC. They have a history. They have one highly sexual encounter prior to Alejandro becoming a chosen. Before he used to work for the ABI. Daria’s appearance has been cosmetically changed so that even Alejandro does not recognize her. Their mission involves a man that both Daria and Alejandro have been in contact with. Sante is who they are after and he used to be Daria’s boyfriend and an acquaintance of Alejandro’s. Sante supposedly killed Daria’s best friend and used Daria to infiltrate the ABI. Daria wants payback. For her to infiltrate Sante’s organization she will have to become chosen, even though she doesn’t show the proper biology to survive the change. She is willing to take the chance as some strongly willed people can fight their way through and come out chosen. Daria is able to do this. Daria and Alejandro head undercover and infiltrate Sante’s organization. It takes a while for them to find out what’s going on. Not all is as it seems from the surface, but they dig deeper. Will Sante figure out who Daria is? Does Sante’s business include blood slaves? Will Daria and Alejandro find they can have forever and ever together or will they both live lifetimes of loneliness?
Anya Bast pulled another winner out of her pocket. The Chosen Sin was a thrilling ride through space and an interesting look at what if situations. What if we found out Vampires existed? What if a form of slavery came back into our society? What would you do if your best friend was murdered? These questions all drive this paranormal story that will have you thinking how humanity acts. If you are looking for a paranormal story that is just out of this world pick up The Chosen Sin.
