Shards of Crimson was a great addition to the Crimson City Series. My favorite of the four stories was by Patti O'Shea. Patti O'Shea wrote the final story - Dark Awakening. I'll tell you about two of the short stories: All the stories are great! Dark Awakening by Patti O'Shea: If you have read the other Crimson books that's a great thing. Patti's book was about demons and a Kijo. A Kijo is a very powerful person. One Kijo is born every five or six centuries. So, a Kijo is very rare. Kimi is a Kijo, but she does not know that. Kimi loves a powerful demon, but he is not the most powerful sect. The Bak-Faru are the most powerful. There is a demon, Augustin, who wants to kill a Kijo and take her power. Augustin is a Bak-Faru! The Bak-Faru are very powerful and very deadly. Kimi must learn to harness her power or die! I really liked this story - Patti has a great imagination. A Time to Howel by Liz Maverick: Tajo Maddox a is a rogue werewolf. He has a job to do - kidnap a werewolf princess. Gia is werewolf princess and also the fiancé of a very powerful Dumont vampire. She has never met her fiancé. When she arrives to get married a bomb goes off and Tajo takes the opportunity to kidnap her. Gia develops an attraction to Tajo and the games begin. This story was a lot of fun - from bombs to great passion - Liz delivers the goods.
