F.E Heaton’s book Prophecy: Child of Light is the first in a unique vampire series. The book starts out on the outskirts of Prague. Prophecy a female vampire has been training for many years, and has not been let out to play. She is restless and wants to experience the world outside her families huge home. She feels trapped and wants to hunt. Prophecy wants to experience her first kill. The other vampires she has been training with get to hunt and Prophecy does not understand why she is not allowed to leave the confines of her house. Her mother always tells her that she has more training. Prophecy belongs to the very powerful Caelestis vampire bloodline. One night Prophecy has had enough. She knows that she is ready to hunt. She escapes from her family’s house and ventures into Prague. She makes her first kill and meets the vampire Valentine. Valentine is from the Aurorea family. He asks Prophesy who her sire is. She will not tell him and he takes her blood. While taking her blood Valentine find out that she is the child of a long ago prophesied event. It is told that the child will destroy all demons including vampires. She is a danger to the whole vampire nation. Valentine reports his meeting with Prophecy to his lord. Its’ determined that Prophecy must be killed. Valentines has reservations about killing Prophesy and kidnaps her from her home. From this point on Valentine and Prophecy are on the run. They must find out the inner workings of the true prophecy and battle witches and such. Prophesy must learn what her powers are and how to use them. If Val and Prophesy are to live they must learn about each other. Ms. Heaton’s novel Prophecy: Child of Light starts this series off with a bang. The characters are extremely interesting and have depth. The story is very unique and I’ve never ready anything like it. It has a minor Romeo and Julie theme going on, but has a very dark and dangerous undertone. Romeo and Juliet never had to battle what Val and Prophesy do! The book is also a great value at only $4.99 for a 500+ page book. Even with so many pages the book is a quick read and leaves you wanting more. I can’t wait to read the next book - Prophecy: Caelestis & Aurorea. Ms. Heaton also has book three planed - Prophesy: Dark Moon Rising.
