Alastair Honeybun unknowingly witnesses a kidnapping. So, when a woman calls and tells him he’s in danger he hangs up. Then Angie Peterson shows up minutes later at his house and explains she overheard two men in her coffee shop say they were on their way to kill him. He’s still unbelieving, but he agrees to call the police just incase. But before he can do that the men show up at his house and it’s too late. He grabs his dachshund Jaws and from that minute they’re on the run keeping just a step ahead of the bad guys. With some help from his family they manage to contact the police, but since they’re not exactly sure who to trust they stay in hiding. As each day passes Alastair and Angie grow closer and more intimate. The question is if they manage to survive will they be able to walk away from each other when this is all over?

This story was full of suspense, yet not predictable at all. I enjoyed the humorous edge it had. I really liked the way the hero’s family was intertwined with the story giving you a deeper feeling of the hero’s personality. I’ll be keeping an eye out for the rest of this series.

Surprised into hiding in a men’s room stall at work, Angie Peterson, owner of the Dunk and Run Coffee Shoppe, overhears two men talking about killing someone named Alastair Honeybun. Picturing a frail, helpless old Englishman, Angie rushes to warn him. There’s only one, small problem, Alastair Honeybun is six foot two inches of yummy man, who’s perfectly capable of taking care of himself. But when the thugs show up while Angie’s still there, they soon figure out they’ll need to take care of each other.

Running from criminals who seem to know where they are and what they’re doing before they do, the two enlist Alastair’s hunky and talented brothers to help them unravel the confusing swirl of murder, kidnapping, and downright unpleasantness closing in on them. But not to worry, the Honeybun brothers are determined to put a serious crimp in the bad guys’ day!
