Death, smoke, and bodies piling up are all she dreams at night. Nightmares that keep her awake and make her wonder what life she led before years ago. All these dreams started again when she sees a cowboy stride into town. Something about this man arouses not only her suspicions, but also her desires. Her father tells her to stay away from Jeremiah Baldwin, that he is dangerous and could kill her. Angel knows this can’t be true for how can a man who kisses her with so much passion and excites her with just one touch be dangerous. With the dreams coming each night she must face the biggest decision ever, should she trust her father? Each interlude with Jeremiah makes her wonder how she could survive when he leaves. Nights with him are a spectacular way to get away from the nightmares but she cannot rely on their passion forever. Can she find out the truth about her nightmares?

He lost everything in a heartbeat. The white people killed his wife and unborn son leaving him with hate, despair and revenge. He knows he must come to peace with their deaths but he cannot just forget. Coming back to his homeland he is determined to find out why he was the only one that survived the gruesome raid. Yet was he the only who survived that day? Something about Angel Sanchez is bringing back all the nightmares he thought were hidden and a sense of familiarity in her. Nights with Angel are like nights filled with new beginnings not just for him but as well for her. He loves that he is her first in passion and love. Yet through all this can he let go of his past and learn to love again with Angel?

I loved that the characters both share a tragedy and that they had to learn that everyone deserves a second chance. Jeremiah is definitely one strong man worth having and all the passion he has in him will make any woman satisfied. Now Angel was a treat to read. This was no damsel in distress girl for she is stubborn and strong-willed just the right person to match Jeremiah in every way.

One word for Kate Lyons new historical romance, Destiny’s Captive is AWESOME. This book had it all including suspense, action, betrayal, love and second chances. Kate Lyon had everything I look forward to in a great book. This is one story that I can definitely recommend. I loved Destiny’s Captive!

AN UNEXPECTED ANGEL
Angelina Sanchez didn’t hold much stock in men. The ones who weren’t slimy fortune hunters weren’t interested in a young lady who would rather spend time with her horses than flirt. But when she saw a handsome stranger in town, there was an instant connection, a spark of familiarity like nothing she’d ever felt. And no matter how fiercely her father warned her away from Jeremiah Baldwin, nothing could have kept her from his side.

A BROKEN WARRIOR
When her father had him beaten and left for dead, Angel’s soft hands and sweet voice coaxed Jeremiah to stay, to fight. In her arms, it seemed he’d finally found a place to belong. But how could he protect her when it was her father who’d led the raid that had slaughtered his family? His spirit guides had told him he would feel true joy only if he made peace with his greatest sorrow. But unless he could find a way to win Angelina’s heart without forsaking his family, he would remain…DESTINY’S CAPTIVE
