Love Means No Shame continues on after Love Means...Courage leaves off, although about twenty years later and with a grown-up Geoff - and it is his story.
Geoff comes home upon his father's death, finding himself a little lost for leaving his city life behind, but also found with the realization that it is on his family's farm where he finds himself truly grounded. Shortly after his move back home, Geoff finds a young man in the barn on his sabbatical away from his Amish community.
Eli is not an average Amish young man, however, and the two find themselves in a relationship - maybe somewhat in spite of themselves. Although Eli blossoms on the Laughton farm, will he be able to find the strength to stay when the "English" world proves to be quite cruel? Will Geoff be able to let Eli go if he doesn't?
A story of two divergent cultures colliding, Love Means No Shame is a wonderful tale of two people who are drifting in their own ways finding each other and seeing if they will be able to make their way together. Love Means No Shame is also a story of acceptance - of differences, of each other, of yourself, and of how it is the differences that can forge the strongest bonds. Highly recommended.

Geoff is in the city, living the gay life to the hilt, when his father's death convinces him to return to the family farm. Discovering a young Amish man asleep in his barn, Geoff learns that Eli is spending a year away from the community before accepting baptism into the church. Despite their mutual attraction, Geoff is determined not to become involved with him, but Eli has discovered that Geoff shares his feelings and begins to court him, neatly capturing first Geoff's attention and then his heart.
Their budding relationship is threatened by closed-minded, gossipy relatives and the society at large, a whole new world to Eli, and he must decide whether to return to the community, his family, and the world and future he knows or to stay with Geoff and have faith in the power of love.
