Nomi is finally free of a marriage that she did not want. The press of people around her is too much for her to handle many days. Granted a small cottage on the edges of the Farm Guild where she has lived her entire life. She lives among people that can never understand her. She is a water-mage, yet unappreciated by the people of the Farm where she lives. Sometimes at night when she can no longer stand the confines of her Guild, she roams to the edges of where it is still safe to lie and watch the stars above.
Burke is a “beast”. He is a changeling among his own kind. Raised by wolves yet he is Mountain Cat. To make matters worse, he is also an Alpha. Forced to leave the only home he knows, he travels first to mountain cat territory, yet is unwelcome there because of being Alpha. He then went to Council, trying anything to stay there among his own kind. Even at this he failed. Because of this, he is forced to wonder alone with no home, no family, and no clan. He is considered unfit for anyone that is fully human, yet he is Nomi’s only friend. He comes to her even though he knows he should not.
He knows that she is his mate, and his cat fights for the right to claim her as such. For the longest time he used the excuse that she belonged to another, but now that reason has no validity. Will he allow his reasoning to lose him the one that he is destined to be with, or will the cat win out and claim her as his mate?
Recently I got a new job, having been out of work for a little over 2 months, it is now proving interesting finding time to do what needs to be done and to also do what I enjoy for fun. Today I got to do something that I enjoy very much; I got to read an amazing book by Mima called Honor Within. Mima is a wonderful writer with an amazing ability to make the worlds she writes about come to life. I read all the time, and especially enjoy books about Were’s or shifters. Honor Within is one such book. It will keep you engrossed from the first pages right up until the final words. I hope you get to sit down and enjoy this book as much as I did.
