Ian Tanner is a divorced, single dad. His son, Randy, comes home one day telling his dad that his new substitute teacher is really nice and he thinks his dad would like her too. Randy even goes as far as asking his dad to invite her over for dinner so they can meet.

Since Randy is so enthusiastic about this teacher, Ian agrees to have Ms. McBain over for dinner. After she accepts the dinner invitation and he finds out who she really is, Ian can’t believe his luck.

Who does Ms. McBain turn out to be for Ian? Do they still decide to have dinner together after the discovery? Does anything come out of this in the end for Ian?

I found this to be an adorable story of a young son trying to make his dad happy again after his divorce two years prior. The storyline was fun to read, but I found one inconsistency that took a little bit away from the overall story. I found listed Randy as a third grader in the blurb, but in the story he was a first grader. Overall, it was an enjoyable story to read.

Ian, divorcé and single dad, isn’t looking for love. But his son, Randy, thinks it’s about time. Randy invites his new teacher Ms. McBain over for dinner. Little does he know she was his dad’s high school sweet heart. When Taylor returned home she expected to run into her ex, especially when his son was in her third grade class, but not invited over for dinner.

Will that old flame be rekindled or will the sparks fly?
