While on her way home from her families’ reunion party, Amber Johnson receives a call from her former boss, Ruth, asking for a favor. It seems that Liza, Ruth’s employee, was involved in a car accident and wouldn’t be able to make it to the party she was suppose to cater that night. Desperately looking for a replacement for her on such short notice, Ruth begs Amber to go and cater this affluent customer’s party. Amber finally gives in and tells Ruth she’ll do it.
Arriving at the address Ruth gives her, Amber just can’t believe the name she sees on the mailbox. Maybe stepping in to help cater this party was a bad idea after all. With no other option available to her, she heads inside and begins cooking. When she finally runs into the owner in the kitchen, she has no idea how things are going to turn out. Let’s face it, the customer is none other than her ex-boyfriend and when they broke up things three years ago, they didn’t part on good terms. But seeing Marc again only drudges up old feelings. Being as smart and sexy as he was in the past, he must be married and with kids now.
After all this time has passed and how bad they left things off with each other, would Marc still have any kind of feelings left for Amber? How do they react to each other once they’re both face to face? In the end, are they able to overcome the obstacles that they are faced with from the past?
I thoroughly enjoyed this story by Ms. Michaels. I loved her characters and the storyline was fun and enjoyable. I love how the story unfolded and how Amber and Marc were now both involved in a rude awakening because of the outcome that happened three years ago. I was hoping they could overcome the issues of the past and use it as a solid foundation to possibly start something back up again. The author is a great storyteller and I would definitely recommend this story to other readers. Well done, Ms. Michaels!
