Just wanting a little escape resulted in the escape of a lifetime for Elizabeth Malloy.  On her way to a cabin in the woods in the middle of a rainstorm, she’s blinded by a white light.  When she awakes, she’s confronted with two handsome men, of interesting but definitely not human hues.  Informed she almost died as a result of a malfunction on their spacecraft, she must now remain with them as the repairs that were made to save her life wouldn’t tolerate the pollution on earth.  Talk about a rude awakening.

Hagan and Gareth are best friends and commander and second-in-command on the ship Oasis.  When Elizabeth enters their lives, their union as lovers and mates suddenly has room for a third.  But any third won’t due; it must be Elizabeth.  With all that she is dealing with, how will they acclimate her to their hedonistic existence and life out in space, as well as the fact that they want her to complete their family?  Very seductively...

Hagan was portrayed as a royal stick up the butt, but he really wasn’t.  His position and natural dominance pushed all of Elizabeth’s buttons, and their interactions made for some entertaining reading.  Gareth was the exact opposite of Hagan, and was the warm and cuddly of the pair.  The combination of both was extremely attractive as well as slightly overwhelming.  While dealing with her major life change, Elizabeth was also battling her own sense of propriety.  An outdated sense of propriety considering her location.  I enjoyed the interaction of all three, as well as Hagan and Gareth as a couple.  When a crisis strikes, Elizabeth uses her earth slang to wiggle her way out of a potentially deadly situation and reinforce her bid for equality with the dominant Hagan.  Past romantic disasters also colored Elizabeth’s behavior and made for some tension.  All in all a very enjoyable escape from reality.
