Scotland Highlands, 1484…A young boy named Calin Macleod is watching a child’s birth. He is hiding behind a false panel so nobody knows that he is there. He watches as his father is killed and the woman who gave birth killed. Laird Kinnon tells the priest to kill his daughter, Akira, but before he can Calin grabs her and marks her with Laird Macleod’s signet ring, that has a bull on it, since he is now the young Laird of Clan MacLeod. He then leaves the room.
1502, Akira is now grown up and believing she is a witch because of the mark on her butt. She thinks she a peasant named Akira Neish who lives on Laird Kinnon’s land. Akira has a benefactor in Laird MacLeod who will marry her when she is of age. He has sent to school at a priory to learned language and other stuff. Will Calin and Akira marry or will they become separated? Some people want to keep them apart.
This tale of romance is entertaining. The characters have some depth to them. The story flows from page one to the last page smoothly. You will love this story.
