Lana and Jason are about as opposite in attitude as two people can be. Lana has a huge chip on her shoulder and is down-right hostile. While he's no push-over and is a successful businessman, Jason believes in living a relaxed life-style. There is little love between them when they first meet, but the sizzle of lust sparks a passion that burns HOT. Soon they find themselves fanning the flames of desire and a battling wills as they both try to control each others bodies and their own emotions.

Beth Kery did an excellent job creating two fantastic characters. I read PARADISE RULES in one sitting, as I found it impossible to set the book down. I was so immersed into their tale that I completely lost track of time. While Lana was so damn prickly and there were times I found her hard to like, there was no denying the depth and reality of her and Jason's characterization. The combustible attraction between them kept me turning the pages late into the night. Jason was very easy going, but he had no problem taking charge. I loved that he was such a family man. I liked that neither of them were able hide themselves completely for each other. Though Jason had to work pretty hard to dig to the bottom of Lana's emotional pit, she was very good at hiding her feelings.
