Hello Cinsearae,

The girls of Night Owl Romance are pleased that you have granted us an interview

We would love to get to know you

Could you please start by telling us a little about yourself?

I live in Philadelphia, PA with my fiancé and two Rat Terriers (Hades and Chaos!) My fiancé and I are due to be married in October this year, and yes, it will have a bit of a Halloween flair to it. I’ve always been drawn to the ‘beautifully dark’ side of life, so all things Gothic, Victorian, or Renaissance-themed always piques my interest. I’m an avid lover of Halloween and creepy things. I’m always searching out the odd, unusual, and the weird. I enjoy wandering through parks, cemeteries and natural settings. Being stuck in a mundane environment or being around too many mundane folks drives me a bit batty sometimes lol. But I’m a very down to earth, friendly person if someone wants to get to know me. I’m also Editor/Publisher of a small press magazine, Dark Gothic Resurrected. http://bloodtouch.webs.com/darkgothicmagazine.htm Those who love all things vampiric, gothic and macabre are always welcome to send something in. I especially encourage aspiring writers to check it out. I’m not hard to please! I know how hard it is for new writers to get noticed these days!

If you could be one of your characters – Who would you be? And why?

None of them actually, lol. I put them in too many strange and/or dangerous predicaments, although I wouldn’t mind taking them up on one of their adventures to liven up things a bit…

Who or what influences you when you write?

I absolutely love all aspects of the Gothic lifestyle, so naturally, this influences a lot of my paranormal writings. Every now and then, some small part in my own life gets incorporated into a story, so that helps a lot too.

Please tell us what you have planned next?

I will be working on the third installment of the Blood Touch series, as well as continuing the ‘Gratista Vampire Clan Solo Series’  for a few select characters from Blood Touch. (Caress of a Psychopath is the first in this particular series, belonging to a very wild, promiscuous Blood Touch character, Sallos. http://www.lulu.com/content/196639.) I always keep story excerpts and sneak peeks up at my website!

Who is your perfect hero?  And why?

Hm, my perfect hero would be a gentleman, well-rounded, caring, down to earth, warm, friendly, accepts his flaws, and is just a good-natured person. I’d probably be a bit too cliché to say my fiancé is all of the above, so my hero is a combination of my four favorite actors …Vincent Price (rest his soul), Frank Langella, Alan Rickman and Johnny Depp, simply because each of them share some or all of the qualities above!

What would you like to tell your readers?

Never ever give up, don’t ever let anyone discourage you, and avoid negative people. Don’t be afraid to experiment, and always think OUTSIDE the box.

Do you outline your books or just start writing?

For most of them, an idea for a story simply pops in my head. When I try to outline it, I usually stray from it anyway. One time, I actually had a character speak so strongly in my mind, it drove me a little nuts, lol. The character wouldn’t leave me alone until I had written down everything he told me for that day, and nearly every day, until the first draft was complete. I couldn’t wait to get that particular book done, lol.

Do you belong to a critique group? If so, how does this help or hinder you?

My own group is a bit of a critique group. We, of course, are a dark and Gothic bunch, but we are also a band of talented writers and artists, constantly encouraging each other in our literary endeavors. We recently published our first group anthology, Midnight Bites, http://bloodtouch.webs.com/clananthologies.htm, and we’re very excited about it!

What would be the best way for readers contact you? Do you have a website? Email address? MySpace site? Blog? Message Board? Group?

They can find me at my website, http://bloodtouch.webs.com. They can also find me at http://www.myspace.com/Cinsearae_s . My group can be found at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Gratista_Vampires

How can readers find out more about you and your books?

Right at my website, or check out http://www.lulu.com/gratistavampires or at Writers.net at http://www.writers.net/writers/59395 . I’ve also had stories published at Forbidden Publications.com under my pen name (for erotica), Mistress Rae.  The links to those books are on my homepage as well.

Thank you for this opportunity!
