Hello Leila,

The girls of Night Owl Romance are pleased that you have granted us an interview

We would love to get to know you.

Could you please start by telling us a little about yourself?

I have been an avid reader and writer all my life. I enjoy a good book like some people enjoy a glass of wine. I savor the feelings it envokes and try to make it last. But when it's good it's always gone too fast. I try to write that way. I want my readers to be so hooked in the story they can't bear to put it down. On the normal side, I work a somewhat normal 9-5, have a family. I am just an average person like everyone else.

What’s your favorite genre to read?

Historical and Paranormal.

What do you do on a typical writing day?

I work full time so I wake up at 5:45am. Get my family ready to head out the door by 7:00am. Then I sit at my desk programming from @8:00am to 11:30am. Then it's off to the local Borders to write for about an hour. I wrap up this mini writing session and head back to work. About 4 - 5 hours later I head home. I veg out with the family in front of the tv for about 3 to 4 hours before I start writing. For me, my family needs to be asleep or otherwise occupied for me to have a good writing session. I turn off the computer and in at about midnight.

When you have writer’s block how do you break free?

I read. Nothing breaks through a block like a good book or a really bad one.

Please tell us what you have planned next?

I am currently working on the second book in the Heartstone Series and I recently completed, Sacrifice, my book in the Cobblestone Press Vampire Oracle Series.

In 5 years, where do you see yourself? -In general and in you’re writing career

In general and in you’re writing career Hopefully, I will have a very extensive back list as well as a budding print list. My plan is to conquer the publishing world by building a loyal reader following in e-books before trying my hand at print books. I don't think I will ever stop publishing e-books becuase I love to read them but I do think to be a truly successful author, for me, means selling some books in print also.

What do you do for inspiration?

I love looking at the art of Jessica Galbreth, Nene Thomas, and Amy Brown. Their art brings out the whimsy in me. It frees me to think outside the norm.

What type of book have you always wanted to write?

Historical. I love the period and strict rules people loved to break.

Do deadlines help or hinder your muse?

Actually they help. I have it on my calendar and will push myself to hit that date.

What would you like to tell your readers?

That I enjoy a good read as much as the next person and I hope my books have given you that. A good read.

Do you outline your books or just start writing?

Yes I like to do a number outline. Only one or two sentences about what should happen. This helps when I get blocked.  I also write a short - one paragraph character sketch of the hero and heroine.

What was your first published work and when was it published?

My first published book is The Diamond Heartstone. It was published by Cobblestone Press in November of 2007.

What would be the best way for readers contact you? Do you have a website? Email address? MySpace site? Blog? Message Board? Group?
